Question

Question:

When you get back to your house at 0630hours from Night Duty, and you've been so busy dealing with Friday Night Fight Club that you haven't eaten for the duration of the shift, and you have a bite to eat on returning home before bed....

Is it Breakfast, Dinner, or something so far undefined...?

Goodnight.
Or Good Morning - you know what I mean.
Sleep beckons.

  1. Sleep tight.

Whatever you call the meal, I imagine it's thoroughly enjoyed (and no doubt lacking in any contribution to you 5-a-day!).

    Oh, and first!

  4. Dunno. What about when you have been in the office all day then gone straight to policing duty after work and got home at about 10am on Saturday morning?

That's the point where I'm usually so far gone that I can't eat even though I know I should.

  5. In the services, those of us who worked rotating shifts all the time called it midnight chow. You ate it before going on shift at 2300 or off shift at 0700. Usually the same menu for either. Always enjoyed.

  8. At the top of the most despised public servant list, police and firecrew dominate the headlines yet again, with customary stupidity and arrogance.

It becomes difficult to rank all the negative features of these public purse scavengers when laziness and incompetence are also considered. We are now informed that moonlighting in both secure positions has now comfortably elevated these 'workers' to high earner status.

"What's that...your house is on fire, Sir? We would love to help out but most of us are desk bound these days. Have you given any thought to where you would like to live next, Sir? Our leading fireman is a part time Estate Agent......."

    @ MTG

It was not ATNS who posted your comment, I am the culprit. I am dreadfully sorry but when I get drunk at work I normally surf the porn sites. So sorry.

  12. I cursed the day they shut down Covent Garden. Nothing better than nipping into the pub at 0630 for a pint of Guinness and a fresh bread roll, amongst the market traders, en route to the section house. All zed's totally knocked out

  13. I feel your pain Area, I had a 17 hour shift that culminated in breakfast of the day being a mars bar last week! Helathy stuff!

  14. Hmm...breakfast perhaps? With the army cadets the focus is normally on the fact that it's the 'next day! It's actually tomorrow!'
As long as sleep follows, all is good.

  15. You know you've been working shifts for too long when, after a long day's work, you rustle up a nice dinner of steak, veg, apple pie and a bottle of wine only to have your wife stumble out and point out it's 0700...

  17. Preserve makeup basic and vivid. I do not mean using red eyeshadow with gold sparkles. Attempt a neutral shimmer eyeshadow to brighten up the eye area. Highlight cheekbones and below the brow bones.
