So if you see these fine people around, give them a hug. In this video a couple of members of the police family joined in - lets see if we can have a more practical approach to all these "reassurance patrols" that we are currently doing. I'm sure that a good hug would reassure more people in London than seeing a distant Hi-Viz jacket. We need more people like this in the world. In fact, why not try hugging a senior officer, in the hope that they will take the experience and maybe think better of street monkeys?
Oh yes, I forgot, we can't. It's a weekend. Senior management don't exist then.

To tidy your links up when writing your posts do the following:-
1.Copy the link you want to use
2.When composing your post, highlight the word that you want to be the link.
3.Press the link button in the row at the top of the compose box(directly to the left of the Align Left button)
4.Paste your link and hit OK.

excellent post, the only problem with hugging SMT is that next week we'll have PHIT's (Performance Hugging Indicator Targets) - no doubt linked to pay...
I wouldn't mind but a lot of our nominals smell of wee and would nick your wallet.
Don't feel you have to post replies to comments, sometimes I reply to comments sometimes I don't, all depends if I've got something to say. Going by that though I post replies all the time!
Like others have said, let your stats do the talking & going by what I've read you have a good blog so keep it up :o)
Another thing, if the trolls do hit & you want to avoid moderating your blog just delete the comments, quite time consuming but it works for me. Or turn the 'anonymous' option off which makes it less easy although not avoidable unfortunately :o(
Oh & I'm all for hugs but only if they are from nice clean people!! Lol

Incidentally I managed to hug most of my team mates, a sergeant, three witnesses and a victim during international hug day. It's lucky my team already think I'm unbalanced...

i prefer naked hugging,
its just the screaming that puts me off, well that & the sirens accompanied by the ruff handcuffs, cold seat in the back of the van. the harsh laughter, interview in a blanket, court appearence etc etc

Morale is pretty high in our section but I don't think I'd get away with hugging them.
The last time we had a firearms incident, after the skipper gave the obligatory reminder that anyone who wished could contact occupational health to arrange counselling, he offered a hug to whoever wanted it.
