I'd add to that list 'don't wave your arms to try and scare the dog unless you want the dog to hang off it'.

It doesn't matter how hard someone thinks they are, I've never seen a GP dog that doesn't KNOW it is harder than them!!!

i've just watched "antoine's" post of the french police dog in action, impressive indeed. some yob in the comments said "he'd shoot the dog", VERY bad idea, over here shooting a police dog is considered as "shooting at a police officer" and is very severely frowned upon.
